Website Design Cheltenham has chalked up the School Uniform Shop site.

Website Design in Cheltenham has chalked up the School Uniform Shop siteWebsite Design in Cheltenham has chalked up the School Uniform Shop UK site.

One of our longstanding clients- Universal Uniforms recently asked us to update their school uniform website.

We built this site for them several years ago and it has been largely dormant ever since- however it still had a first page ranking on Google.

But with Google constantly changing the ways that they rank sites the uniform site needed a revamp to make it responsive and to have it’s search engine optimisation updated.

Plus due to increasing demand for it’s business services the client had moved to larger premises so they also needed the contact details updating.

Accordingly we completely revamped the “look and feel” and set about updating the content to reflect the changing nature of the business. And then updated Google as to the site’s revised content.

The client was so delighted that they paid our invoice within 24 hours- so we are pretty chuffed too!

So, if you want to increase your business’s profile- and your website’s sales then please contact us NOW or ring us on 01242 521967 now to see how we can help you to make money as well!

New business floods in for Prestbury Bathrooms

New business floods in for one of our clients- Prestbury Bathrooms.

New business floods in for one of our clients- Prestbury Bathrooms.Website Design Cheltenham were approached by Mark Clay the Managing Director of Prestbury Bathrooms last year to help them rebuild their website and to get more traffic and business as a result.

There are three things that any business needs to do to win new business- whether they are online or offline:

  • Be found;
  • Offer the good and services that people want to buy;
  • Convey the trust that the business will delivery on people’s hard earned money.

We then researched the keywords that potential new customers are using for Prestbury Bathrooms’ services and completely redesigned, made responsive and optimised a whole new website.

Secondly element- the website has to match the new customers’ expectations- which in this case is skilled, great value bathroom design installation services.

Which may sound easy enough until you consider that all of these screens- computer, notepads and smart phones have different dimensions. So all the website’s images have to be resized so that all appear correctly.

Thus when a website depends on it’s images to sell and promote the skills and quality of the business- this becomes a bit of an issue. Thus when a page has nearly two dozen images- and they all need to be resized several times, the process becomes a bit of an organisational task.

The third step is less hard in Prestbury’s case as they are a well established, reputable service with lot of excellent examples and testimonials. They just needed this skilled, professional approach emphasising.

Overall we have managed to promote Prestbury Bathrooms from having three pages listed in Google’s database to having over 40 pages now listed. And we are pleased to say quite a few are now ranked on the first page fo Google for the keyword phrases that Mr Clay wanted.

The business result- Prestbury Bathrooms now have work fully booked for the next four months- as Mark told us today- “Thank you- you must be doing something right we have never been so busy!”

So, if you want help with making money from your website by attracting new customers and new business- please contact us now or ring us on 01242 521967 now to see how we can help you to make money as well!

Cyber security in Cheltenham

Cyber security services in Cheltenham

Cyber security services in CheltenhamWebsite Design Cheltenham is pleased to announce that our Managing Director Simon Dye has just completed a Cyber Security Open University course and passed the final assessment with a 94% mark.

This educational attainment epotimises our committment to remain at the cutting edge of technoligal advancements- so you can be sure that we know what we are talking about in helping you.

Large scale cyber security breaches make the headlines but about 70% of organisations are not reporting their worst security incidents- so what is making the news is just a small proportion of the breaches that are actually taking place.

Britain is being targeted by up to 1,000 cyber attacks every hour.

For small organisations the worst breaches cost between £65,000 and £115,000 on average and for large organisations may run to many millions of pounds. These costs can occur as direct financial losses due to fraud or theft; the loss of productivity due to time spent recovering from the effects of a successful attack; or the lost of trust and reputation.

UK small businesses value their reputation as one of their key assets. Yet they are hugely underestimating the likelihood of a cyber breach happening to them and its long term impact:

60% of small businesses surveyed have experienced a cyber breach, but only 29% of those who haven’t experienced a breach cited potential reputational damage as an ‘important’ consideration.

The impact of a cyber breach can be huge and long lasting. 89% of the small businesses surveyed who have experienced a breach said it impacted on their reputation.  Those who experienced a breach said the attack led to:
Brand damage (31%)
Loss of clients (30%)
Ability to win new business (29%)

Cyber prevention is much better than cure

According to one industry report, the number of cyber ransomware attacks increased in 2014 by more than 4,000%, with small to medium sized enterprises (SMEs) being the main target due to poor security practices.

The rise in legitimate websites being compromised for the purposes of executing watering hole attacks as a way of delivering malware – including ransomware – means enterprises need to add malware detection to web browsing activities.

Could your business survive a ransomware attack- would your accounts or your customer data be recoverable? Do you know how to safeguard your organisation’s very survival?

So, if you want to increase your ensure your organisation’s continued wellbeing then please contact us NOW or ring us on 01242 521967 now to see how we can help you to make money as well!

Website Design Cheltenham adds 11+ Tutor

Website Design in Cheltenham has added 11+ Tutor Hilary Hayward to our list of clients.

Website Design in Cheltenham has added 11+ Tutor Hilary Hayward to our list of clients.Cheltenham 11+ tutoring expert Hilary Hayward has been helping local children prepare for the Gloucestershire Grammer schools entrance exam.

Gloucestershire has some of the highest achieving Grammar schools in the country. As such the Grammar school entry process in Gloucestershire is very competitive, as there is no catchment area. Plus many children apply from outside the county.

Having experienced Hilary’s expert tution process at first hand it was only an act of friendship to offer to help her update her website and optimise it in the process.

Tutoring for the eleven plus based in Cheltenham.

She aims to build children’s faith in themselves, to allow them to perform at their best on the day of the grammar school entrance exam.

The verbal reasoning questions that are used for the eleven plus can seem baffling when you first look at them. Many children will assume they can not do them as they have never come across anything like it before. With help and encouragement they realise that they can answer the questions.

The tutoring process allows them to become familiar with the different types of question that can appear in the papers. Tutoring can also expand their knowledge in key areas which also aids the process of answering questions.

She believes that learning to deal with the pressures on the day is a very important part of any Eleven Plus exam preparation.

In addition she is willing to provide one to one tutoring for children who need a third party influencer or support parents in tutoring techniques, if they wish to minimise the number of formal tutoring sessions. The sessions can be adjusted to meet the individual’s needs.

As a result she is very busy, but nevertheless understands the importance pf having a website that matches her professional competence. Which is where we come in.

So, if you want to increase your professional profile- and your website’s sales then please contact us NOW or ring us on 01242 521967 now to see how we can help you to make money as well!

Website Design vital for helicopter trainers

Website Design Cheltenham is “vital” for Gloucestershire helicopter trainers James Kenwright.

Website Design Cheltenham is "vital" for Gloucestershire helicopter trainers James Kenwright. Two years ago James Kenwright approached us at Website Design Cheltenham to help him build a new site for his business of training helicopter pilots based at Staverton, Gloucestershire airport.

Whilst James had over twenty years experience of training helicopter pilots to pass thier PPL(H), he had always worked for others. Now he wanted to run his own training business.

He also knew that the a website would be the most profitable and practical way to build his business- so he needed someone who was very search engine optimisation (SEO) savvy.

The natural way to find a seo expert was to search Google- which is how he found us. But our SEO expertise was only part of his process- he wanted a local business which could understand his approach- and in whom he could trust and depend.

So after a couple of meetings together we were hired and I’m pleased to say that we have both grown from strength to strength since.

At our annual review meeting recently James commented “Simon has been absolutely vital to my business. We depend on our website to generate new business for us and we have been profitable every single month since my business was formed.”

“Every month we get new applications and new approaches so our business is growing and they are all coming from our website- so Simon’s SEO expertise is pivotal to our business. I’m happy to call them part of the James Kenwright Helicopter Training team.”

Praise indeed!

UK shoppers top online spending league

Shoppers in the UK spend more online per person than those from any other country in the world.

Shoppers in the UK spend more online per person than those from any other country in the world.Analysis from Internet World Germany found that British shoppers spend an average of £1,050 a year, followed by the US, with £1,001. German shoppers came in third place, each spending an average of £915 via the internet each year.

Within Germany, found the analysis, the top 10 online retailers generate more than a third of total ecommerce sales. Amazon Amazon is the most popular online shop, with sales put at more than £4.9 billion, while fashion retailers Otto and Zalando recorded sales of almost £1.5 billion and £659 million respectively. Online accounts for 15.3% of total retail sales, excluding food.

“The average ecommerce spend per head spend in Germany is not far off UK and US levels,” said Saskia Müller, head of Internet World Germany. “With domestic and international online brands continuing to understand what’s important to German consumers and adding value to their services, there’s a lot of room for growth in an already mature market.”

However in the UK mobile’s share of visits to UK retail sites has increased to 64%.

Smartphone shopping is now the default for  U.K. shoppers with 64% of all website visits to retailers last year coming from mobile devices, according to digital market intelligence company, SimilarWeb.

The study revealed that on average 64.54% of visits to all online retail sites in the U.K last year were via mobile phones, compared to 35.46% for desktop. This reflected a further 2.63% increase for mobile’s market share in the online U.K retail market last year.

The UK now has a bigger share of mobile phone shopping than the U.S (55%), Germany (43%) and France (35%).  However India remained the standout leader for mobile shopping, with a 65% share, over desktop, last year.

On average, across 2015, all of the most popular 10 UK retail sites, including Amazon, eBay and Argos, registered a bigger share of visits from mobile, compared to desktop visits (see below).

The shift to mobile also represented a retail challenge — while on average U.K desktop visitors browsed 12.4 pages per session in 2015, this dropped to 7.3 pages when sites were visited via smartphones.

Similarly, on desktop, UK shoppers spent  7.21 minutes on an average retail site viewed from desktop last year, dropping  to an average of 5 minutes and 5 seconds on a mobile device.

The UK is now a European leader in mobile shopping, far ahead of France, and Germany.
